They just had it all in the 20's! 20 years later you had those ugly brown clodhoppers with no personality at all!
Thanks for subscribing, Mech!
Amazing machine 👏
Yes. You will see and hear one soon.
This could possibly be mechanically coupled with linkage to an internal diaphragm.
Where is it today?
As far as I am aware it is still in Australia.
Excellent Fidelity for an acoustic machine!
Nice big reproducer.
This is indeed a beautiful record! Beautifully sung and well accompanied. A great recording too. I enjoyed this very much.
Thank you for your kind appraisal. I'll bring the record with me when we visit, hopefully next weekend. Talk further.
Sounds very good, great transfer
What a great record player
ਅਨਮੋਲ,ਖਾਜਨਾ,,HMV
It sounds like it's being played with an electric pickup, but it looks like a standard Nr. 5 reproducer.
I want to know the name of the music
Greetings from Calcutta, India. TREASURE in the truest sense. Preserve it.
Stunning sound quality!
Thank you! We used to have, “I lift up my finger,” and it was wonderful to hear it again after probably 60 years! Sadly I broke our gramophone by winding it over hard, and we got a modern hi-fi in about 1960
G'day. I am pleased you enjoyed hearing it again. Keep safe.
Cela peut être réparé facilement👍😍

Play 20 records... ? But should the needle not be changed after every record played?
Thanks for your question. There are needles that last 10 sides before you have to change them. There were also semi permanent ones available as well. Keep safe.
What a great record player
Thank you for your kind comment.
Is that an electric light in the lid corner?
That is fantastic. I saw one of these in the flesh in chesterfield and they are really impressive and very rare. Congratulations on owning this!
Thanks for your interest. Keep safe.
It's beautiful! Great record by Debroy Somers too.
Thank you for your kind remarks. Keep safe.

"Тёплый" механический звук!!! Шутка! "Warm" is a mechanical sound!!! Joke!
Virtuosity indeed!
Its funny that the motor and controls run on electric but it is acousticaly reptoduced
In the late 1920's, motors were becoming more common but electronics using valves was still being developed.

Just the cabinet as a piece of fine craftsmanship is very beautiful, let alone all the mechanics and sound quality .Such a lovely song and record too . I wonder if this went to a Country House somewhere when new ?
Interesting.
Beautiful gramophone. Love to watch this
Hello! Wonderful gramophone! By the way, have you got soundbox Electrola/HMV n4? Because I really need it and can’t find!
These always sounded amazing. It's almost like a mechanical speaker. I wonder how it actually worked and how it could have been improved.
I always wondered about changing the needle after every record. What kind of needle does it use?
Hi John, thanks for your interest. I use Duragold columbia needles. They last 10 sides. For a single record I just use a standard needle. Cheers. Greg
Can I buy them?
